It must be clear to the customers of authorised users that the certification refers to the genuine type of product and not the originator of the goods or services themselves.

The term Chesterfield should be used only where to do so is accurate, in respect of a particular item or items of upholstered furniture. For example, the term should not be applied to a range of items or categories of products unless all items or products in that range or category are authentic Chesterfield certified products.
